President's Statement

Quite simply, the people. I often make the rather dated reference, "We're the Cheers of community colleges. We're the place where everyone knows your name." It's not only a matter of knowing who you are (students and staff alike) but realizing what you need. The supportive, compassionate, welcoming nature of the SCC family is beyond any expectation. We also boast, "Community is literally our middle name." We seek to serve.

I love feeling like I can affect change at this institution and like my work matters here. I appreciate the sense of camaraderie, and those who work here genuinely care and are good people. I really appreciate the ability to work/teach remotely when needed as it helps sustain the balance between my professional life, personal life, and maintaining physical and mental health.
